State Assembly 2018

Join us for the Maryland Green Party's annual State Assembly on June 30th. Our 2018 host is the Howard County Green Party, holding the assembly in Elkridge, Maryland. The event will take place from 11 am to 5 pm at the Elkridge Library.

We will have a selection of speakers, most notably former Co-chair Ian Schlakman and HUD RAB delegate Rev. Annie Chambers, who are running for Governor and Lt. Governor respectively. There will also be group discussions and panels.

Elections

Most importantly, we will be electing officers to the Coordinating Council (the State Party's Green Central Committee). These officer positions include two co-chairs, a treasurer, a secretary, and a membership coordinator. In addition, we will be electing delegates to represent Maryland Greens on the Green National Committee (GNC). There are two delegate and two alternate delegate positions.

The nomination deadline has passed, however, write-in candidates are accepted. See 2018 Assembly Voting Procedure.

Nomination Forms Are Closed.

We are accepting absentee ballots for the first time. Voters can print out and complete their assembly ballot and submit them to their local party representative, who will deliver the ballots to the assembly. Representatives will seal the ballots in a secure envelope. Absentee voters are encouraged to sign their name on the ballot, should there be verification issues. Alternatively, ballots may be scanned and emailed to [email protected] using the subject header "ASSEMBLY BALLOT" with attached contact information for verification.

In order to vote, you must be registered Green. On-site registration at the Assembly will be made available.
