Why Register Green?
By registering Green, you help the Green Party grow.
Once we have 1% of registered voters in Maryland registered
as Green, we qualify for automatic ballot access. This
will save volunteers from having to petition for each
Green candidate to get on the ballot. Send a powerful
message to the Democratic and Republican parties, tell
them you are not happy with their policies and practices.
Registration Training
In order to register others, you need to attend a
class and be certified by the Elections Office as a Voter
Registration Volunteer. This allows you to register voters
in Montgomery County and throughout Maryland.
Training sessions for Voter Registration Volunteers
are given at the Board of Elections office, 751 Twinbrook
Parkway, Rockville. Classes are given each Wednesday at
10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. You do not need an appointment
to attend the class. Evening classes can be arranged for
groups of 5 or more; call (240) 777-8500 and speak to
Betty Ann Lucey about scheduling an evening training session.
At the end of the training session, you will be issued
a certificate, which identifies you as a Voter Registration
Volunteer, and given all the forms needed to register
voters in Maryland.

Tabling Equipment
For a larger affair, you will need: a table, tablecloth,
chairs, banner, cash box, receipt book, voter registration
cards, clip boards, literature, donation jar and possibly
goods to sell.
If you wish to table on a smaller scale, just bring
an ironing board, a tablecloth, voter registration cards
and some literature. A narrow ironing board is at just
the right level for writing and has the advantage of not
blocking the whole sidewalk. This may be the best option
for tabling in front of a grocery store or metro station.
Tips for Tabling Coordinators
- Phone to confirm with volunteers.
- Be clear about the time and location of the meeting
place.
- Start the day with plenty of small change.
- Keep track of all cash received.
