This past weekend I volunteered at PowerShift '07 at the University of Maryland. This was a conference for college global warming and environmental activists that grew out of Bill McKibben's Step It Up group.

Attendees came from all over the country and Canada. There were 5500 attendees, this was said to be the largest conference on global warming in history. I must say the passion and enthusiasm were inspiring.

Ralph Nader, Nancy Pelosi, Ed Markie, Bill McKibben and many other people spoke.

Seminar tracks included anti-oppression and diversity, campus organizing, corporate campaigning, education, environmental justice/energy issues, media and messaging, skills trainings, and spirituality and faith.
