The Maryland Green Party requires the following for candidates to be considered eligible to participate in the Maryland Green Party's presidential primary and sponsored events:

that the candidate not be a registrant of any state or national political party in the individual’s primary state of residence except for a state party which has affiliated with the Green Party of the United States (GPUS), or a party forming for the intent of GPUS affiliation in a state where there is no GPUS affiliated state party;

that the candidate has established a campaign committee and filed with the Federal Election Commission or has publicly declared an exploratory committee to seek the Green Party's nomination for President of the United States;

has a website to promote their candidacy; and

has publicly promoted fundraising ability, either with an online donation portal or mailing address capable of receiving campaign contributions.
